Chamsys MagicQ training at IPS
IPS will be hosting Chamsys MaqicQ training courses on 15th & 16th September 2025.
We are excited to be hosting our first lighting desk courses in our brand-new training space. Delivered by Chamsys, these 1-day courses will cover Basic level followed by Intermediate level training on all the MagicQ product range. This includes the MQ70 & MQ250M lighting desks within the IPS hire range, as well as all other MagicQ based Consoles and PC Wings.
1 Day MagicQ Basic Training Course
Monday 15th September 2025. The course covers starting new shows from scratch, layouts, patching, recording and editing cues, cue lists and chases, FX programming.
The courses is suitable for all skill levels but suited more to those starting out with MagicQ. Experienced users can pick up new tips and tricks. Set up for training is two people per console using ChamSys MagicVis for visualisation.
The course costs £50 (plus VAT) per person, which includes a MagicQ Basic DMX dongle, ChamSys USB key, training guide and lunch. Registration is online via the Chamsys Eventbrite portal here.
1 Day Intermediate MagicQ Course
Tuesday 16th September 2025. The course covers advanced MagicQ features including advanced patching, pixel mapping, timecode, timeline scheduled events, execute window and group FX.
The courses is suited towards existing MagicQ users, we’d recommend previous MagicQ experience in a show environment before attending this course. Set up for training is two people per console using ChamSys MagicVis for visualisation.

How to book
The courses will be taking place at IPS, Second Avenue, Bletchley, MK1 1ED. We have plenty of parking, and there are easy train connections nearby too. There will also be an opportunity to have a tour round our new site.
