20kg Stage Weight Hire
The 20kg Hand / Stage Weight is a structure building essential. They find many uses within an event and live production environment. We have well over 1000 of these in stock at IPS. Several design variations are held within our hire stock. This means the exact dimensions of each weight may be slightly different. All types feature a large handle which is ideal for carrying the weight, and as an attachment or strapping point.
Not to be confused with the classic square 12.5kg stage weight – although we do hire these too, check out the listing here. This 20kg version is also known as a hand weight, and calibrated versions are also available which are widely used as test weights.
We usually dispatch hires with multiple 20kg weights on pallets. These can then be moved in bulk using a standard pallet truck (or forklift if available).
More Ballast Options
IPS also stock a range of other ballast options. If you have mechanical handling equipment onsite, then our range of concrete blocks are quick and easy to deploy. For outside projects, we also have water tanks and ground anchors ready to hire. However, when pallet trucks or manual handling is the only option, 20kg stage weights are a versatile solution. The steel construction provides a good size to weight ratio, and multiples of 20 are easy to count in your head!

An aluminium large Modular H frame with thru connectors often used to create a ladder frame for lanterns.

Tough 9mm thick aluminium base plate fitted with welded conical receivers. Measuring 420mm square, the plate has a compact footprint just larger than the truss.
Suitable for use with Eurotruss HD44, FD44 and TD44 truss sections. These can be used either at the base of a truss tower or inverted at the top. When used at the top they create a small platform ideal for supporting items such as moving head lighting fixtures. Eurotruss also suggest they can be used as wall plates.

Eurotruss TD44 is a 40cm aluminium square tower truss with black finish. The TD44-100 is the part number for the 1m length section. This forms part of the IPS hire range along with 0.25m to 3m truss lengths. TD44 uses a 3 mm wall thickness in the main tube to ensure durability and extra strength. Designed for high frequency usage or installations, which demands higher loading. Ideal trussing system for rental, touring and exhibition companies. IPS stock TD44 truss is all in a black finish.
The Eurotruss TD44 1m Black truss has the same excellent load capacity as the Eurotruss HD44 truss series. It uses the same loading table which can be found here: https://www.eurotruss.com/product/hd44-square-truss/. The TD44 truss series shares the same dimensions as the HD44 and now discontinued FD44 truss series. Note that the FD44 has a reduced 2mm wall thickness which has a lower rated loading than HD/TD44.
The TD name denotes a tower truss type. Eurotruss created the TD44 truss for use as a vertical tower element, adding an extra welded ‘climbing’ brace on one side. However, TD44 is also ideal for horizontal (or any other angle) orientation applications with free spans of 18m in length.

The TD44 uses Eurotruss CS1 conical couplers (known as eggs) to join sections. Conical couplers / eggs are fitted using tapered pins hammered into position and then secured with clips or bolts. As standard, all IPS hire stock TD44 truss lengths come fitted with one set of four conical couplers attached with bolted pins. IPS include one additional set of four CS1 Pins and four R Clips with the hire.

The EXE Rise range is made from extremely light cast aluminium. This one ton model has a compact body size – officially named ‘Medium Frame’ in EXE terminology. The IPS hire stock versions tip the scales at 83.5kg including the chain. Speaking of chains, the IPS hire stock 1000kg EXE Rise motors feature a useful 25m Height of Lift. This makes these work well in most venues as a straight drop – and comfortably work in a motor down configuration for a ground support for towers up to 12m tall.

The EXE Rise D8+ 500kg Motor / chain hoist is ready to hire now from IPS. Electric Chain Hoists (or ‘Motors’ as they are also commonly known) are an ideal choice for event rigging. Hirers can use these three-phase powered models on their own via a 1-way controller (or pickle) or in multi-hoist configurations. Featuring low voltage control (LV) these motors are widely compatible with a range of control systems. Double braked, and compliant with D8+ standards, these hoists meet all rider specification criteria for event and entertainment projects.
The EXE Rise range is made from extremely light cast aluminium. This half ton model has a compact body size – officially named ‘Medium Frame’ in EXE terminology. With a body self-weight of only 24kg, the IPS hire stock versions tip the scales at 46kg including the chain. Speaking of chains, the IPS hire stock 500kg EXE Rise motors feature a useful 25m Height of Lift. This makes these work well in most venues as a straight drop – and comfortably work in a motor down configuration for a ground support for towers up to 12m tall.
Designed for smooth operation, the EXE Rise electric chain hoist operates at a fixed speed of 4 metres per minute. Comparatively quiet in operation, these motors are ideal for soundstages, nightclubs, exhibition halls, concert halls, amphitheatres, and all kinds of indoor or outdoor venues. Kinesys DigiHoist offers digital communications, limit monitoring, load and position feedback and group halt functionality in a compact package. At the core of the system is a digital communications link that enables multiple units to be daisy chained together. Ready to hire now from IPS, Prolyte S40T is a heavy duty aluminium tower truss product. Riggers sometimes refer to the S40T, which has an exterior dimension of 389mm x 389mm, as 40cm or 15‑inch truss. The S40T truss series has diagonal bracing on three sides, and horizontal ladder style bracing on the fourth. The IPS stock of this truss is in a natural aluminium / silver finish.
This listing is for a 3m section of S40T truss. The Prolyte product reference is S40T-L300 Truss. IPS have a range of other S40t lengths in hire stock including 0.5m, 0.65m and 2m sections. Each length is supplied with a set of four CCS6 conical couplers bolted into one end, and four loose CCS6 truss pins & clips. The S40T features 45 degree coupler orientation (meaning the pins go diagonally into each corner) so it is equally easy to assemble in any orientation.
S40T truss is most commonly used at IPS in tower configuration to create Prolyte ST Towers. These are self climbing towers typically configured with sleeve / carriage blocks for use with Prolyte S52SV truss sections. Standard applications include freestanding rigging towers and ground support truss structures, both usually in self-climbing configuration. The Prolyte S40T also features as the support truss for the IPS CLT XL outdoor roof system.
