Tiered Seating Platforms

Raised seating is a great way to ensure that your audience can see every element of your event and keep everyone engaged during your performance or presentation. Usually constructed in tiered rows, seating platforms can be deployed with different row depths and height increment to suit the event and build location.

Tiered platforms can also be used for an orchestra or seated choir. Platforms with larger tiers can be used for tables such as at an awards event or a top table for a wedding. Alternatively, much smaller tiers could be used for standing, such as a rock choir or a photographer / press platform.

IPS Indoor seating platforms are usually constructed from LiteDeck modular staging with platform heights starting from as low as 7inches off the ground (approx. 180mm). Other popular start heights are 9inches (approx. 230mm) or 12inches / 1foot (approx. 300mm). Tier height increments are usually either 7 inches or multiples of 9inches or 12inches. Platforms can be designed as single or multiple level structures and typically require handrail round all exposed edges.

Seating platforms don’t just have to be rectangular – IPS has a range of triangular and curved LiteDeck modules so a variety of shapes and sizes can be constructed, largely from stock components. IPS can also custom build sections to order, so if you have a particular layout in mind, get in touch for more details. For larger platforms over 3m in height, platforms are usually constructed from Layher system components.
