The d&b audiotechnik CCL8 is a mobile specific compact cardioid line array loudspeaker for small to medium-scale sound reinforcement.

d&b CCL8 Loudspeaker NLT4 F/M

The CCL8 is part of the brand-new CL Series. As you can guess from the name, the CCL8 offers a horizontal dispersion of 80 degrees. Each cabinet weighs 17.6kg and can produce a max SPL of 137 dB.

Output directivity is maintained across the entire operating bandwidth owing to the arrangement of the forward and sideward LF drivers in combination with their processing functions. This Line Array cabinet is a 2-way passive design housing 2 x 7″ neodymium forward LF drivers, 2 x 5″ neodymium side firing LF drivers and two 1.75″ exit HF compression drivers mounted to a dedicated wave shaping device. The cylindrical wave segments of each cabinet couple without gaps and sum up coherently. Users can set Splay angles between adjacent cabinets in the range from 0° to 14° in 1° increments. The frequency response extends from 62 Hz to above 18 kHz.

Amplifiers & comparisons for the CCL8

Any current d&b amplifier can drive the CCL8. This includes the D25, D40, D80 and D90, plus all the installation range versions too. You can drive up to two CCL8 loudspeakers per amplifier channel in Line or Arc modes, or one per channel if using Array Processing.

The CCL8 is the narrower of the line array cabinets in the CL-Series range. The cabinet dimensions are 209 x 593 x 355 mm with a weight of 17.7kg. d&b B12-SUB

Complementing the CCL system, the ground subwoofer B12-SUB delivers powerful low-end extension in a compact format.

Technical Details from D&B:
The B12-SUB is a compact high performance cardioid subwoofer, intended for ground stacked applications only.

It houses two long excursion neodymium drivers in an integrated cardioid setup: a 15″ driver in a bass-reflex design facing to the front and a 10″ driver in a 2-chamber bandpass design radiating to the rear. The arrangement and tuning provide a cardioid dispersion pattern using a single amplifier channel. Its frequency response extends from 39 Hz to 150 Hz.

The B12-SUB has no rigging components. The manufacturer constructs the cabinet enclosure from plywood and coats it with an impact and weather-protected 2K finish. A rigid metal grill, backed by an acoustically transparent and water-repellent fabric, protects the front and rear of the cabinet. Each side panel incorporates a handle and mounted on the rear panel are four heavy duty wheels.

Two runners extend from the rear to the front panel of the cabinet protecting the bottom panel against scratching. Two correspondingly shaped recesses are incorporated in the top panel to accept these runners and prevent cabinet movement when stacking. Find the full technical specifications here on the D&B website.

Looking for a flown version? Check out the CCL-SUB here.

The V-SUB is an actively driven high performance cardioid subwoofer powered by a single amplifier channel. The V-SUB features integrated rigging equipment, and shares the same acoustical and visual design as the V-GSUB, which is intended for ground stacked applications only. It houses two long excursion neodymium drivers, an 18″” driver in a bass-reflex design facing to the front and a 12″” driver in a two chamber bandpass design radiating to the rear. The cardioid dispersion pattern resulting from this approach avoids unwanted energy behind the system that reduces the reverberant field at low frequencies and provides the greatest accuracy of low frequency reproduction.

The V subwoofer can be used to supplement V8 and V12 loudspeakers in various combinations, ground stacked or flown, either integrated on top of a V8 / V12 array or as a separate column.

The V-SUB cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam. Each side panel incorporates two handles, whilst the top panel has an M20 high stand flange inserted.

The d&b J-INFRA Sub is a large format cardioid subwoofer that can’t fail to bring a smile to your face. If you want loads of low frequency bass extension in a big venue, the J-Infra sub is a great choice.

The J‑INFRA is a cardioid infra subwoofer designed for J‑Series systems, extending low‑frequency response to 27 Hz. It is also ideal for adding extra audio wallop to other d&b systems, including our V-Series system. Its three‑driver design delivers precise, rear‑rejected bass performance, with hypercardioid optimisation available via the amplifier. Featuring three 21″ drivers, each J-INFRA cabinet weights in at 152kg. Built from marine plywood with weather protection, it is suitable for ground‑stacked configurations. To get the best audio performance for your event, full system design via d&b Array Calc is recommended. You can check out the full J-INFRA specifications on the d&b audiotechnik website here.

The d&b J-INFRA sub requires biamp drive from a D80 amplifier. You can drive up to two cabinets per D80 amplifier. IPS stocks a range of d&b amplifiers in quick to deploy Touring Rack configurations – check out details here. IPS also have a large range of line array and point source audio systems from d&b ready to hire, including all the associated flying hardware. Check out our full audio hire range here.

The Y-SUB is an actively driven cardioid subwoofer powered by a single amplifier channel. It houses two long excursion neodymium drivers in an integrated cardioid setup, an 18 1D driver in a bass-reflex chamber facing to the front and a 12 1D driver in a two chamber bandpass design radiating towards the rear. The cardioid dispersion pattern resulting from this arrangement avoids the distribution of energy behind the system, providing the greatest accuracy of low frequency reproduction and reducing the energy dispersed into unwanted areas. The Y-SUB is fitted with three point rigging hardware and can be flown in a column of purely Y subwoofers, at the top of a Y array or used in a ground stacked setup. The cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam, whilst the side panels incorporate two handles with four wheels mounted to the rear. An optional transport lid protects the front of the subwoofer during transit.

The B4-SUB is an actively driven cardioid subwoofer powered by a single amplifier channel. It houses two long excursion neodymium drivers in an integrated cardioid setup: a 15″ driver in a bass-reflex design facing to the front and a 12″ driver in a two chamber bandpass design radiating to the rear. The cardioid dispersion pattern resulting from this approach avoids unwanted energy behind the system that greatly reduces the reverberant field at low frequencies and provides the greatest accuracy of low frequency reproduction. The B4 subwoofer can only be used in a ground stacked setup. The B4-SUB cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, has an impact and weather resistant paint finish and a pair of handles. An M20 threaded flange in the top panel accepts the d and b Loudspeaker stand winder M20. The loudspeaker cabinet is also available in Special Colour (SC) options.

The V12 is a 3-way passive design housing 2 x 10inch LF drivers, one hornloaded 8inch MF driver and two 1.4inch exit HF compression drivers with 2.5inch voicecoils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. The symmetrical dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers around the centrally mounted coaxial MF and HF components allows a smooth overlap of the adjacent frequency bands in the crossover design. This results in an exceptional 120deg horizontal constant directivity dispersion control nominally being maintained down to 250 Hz. The mechanical and acoustical design enables flown vertical arrays of up to twenty four loudspeakers. It can be used in columns of purely V12 loudspeakers or combined with V8s and / or with V-SUBs. The cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam. Each side panel incorporates a handle, while two additional recessed grips are provided at the rear bottom of the cabinet.

The d&b V7P Loudspeaker is the largest point‑source option in the IPS d&b hire range.

The 3‑way passive V7P uses two 10‑inch drivers in a dipole arrangement. These drivers work together with a horn‑loaded 8‑inch MF driver and a 1.4‑inch compression driver mounted on a rotatable CD horn. Furthermore, the innovative horn design for the centrally mounted MF driver delivers remarkable sensitivity, which results in exceptional vocal performance. In addition, an advanced bass‑reflex and venting design extends the LF output and provides full‑bandwidth capability. All components sit symmetrically around the cabinet’s centre axis, thereby producing a perfectly symmetrical dispersion pattern. This high‑performance point‑source loudspeaker offers 75° horizontal directivity with a 40° vertical dispersion. Moreover, you can rotate the horn by 90° to enable horizontal orientation. You can find the full specification for the V7P on the d&b audiotechnik website.

The V7P supports a wide range of deployment options. You can use it as a stand‑alone full‑range system or combine it with other V‑Series elements, either ground‑stacked or flown. The d&b V‑SUB is a popular subwoofer partner.

The cabinet is built from marine plywood. It has a black impact and weather resistant PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. A rigid metal grille protects the front of the loudspeaker. The enclosure includes a pair of handles, M10 threaded inserts for d&b rigging hardware, and three additional M10 sockets that accept an 8 mm load pin to expand mounting options.

The d&b M4 Stage Monitor is a high‑performance 2‑way loudspeaker. Almost universally accepted on any performer or artist rider, you’ll find the M4 on a huge number of stages – and the techs love them too.

The M4 uses an integrated 15‑inch 1D LF driver and a 1.3‑inch 1D exit horn‑loaded HF coaxial driver, both featuring neodymium magnets. Its constant‑directivity horn provides a 50° x 70° (h x v) dispersion pattern, delivering a precisely defined coverage area on stage. You can also operate the M4 in 2‑Way Active mode.

You can position the cabinet upright, allowing the M4 to function as a powerful PA loudspeaker. In this orientation, it provides a 70° x 50° dispersion suitable for a wide range of applications. For installation use, you can rotate the M4’s driver assembly in 45° increments to achieve the desired dispersion characteristics.

The M4 cabinet is built from marine plywood with integrated handles. It features an impact‑resistant paint finish, M10 threaded inserts, and a socket for loudspeaker stands. A rigid metal grille backed with acoustically transparent foam protects the front of the cabinet. Two recessed runners on the bottom panel protect the enclosure from scratches and prevent movement. Full M4 specifications are available on the d&b audiotechnik website.

IPS hire stock d&b M4 Stage Monitors include NL4 connectors and come supplied in two‑way flightcases. You can drive the M4 with a range of d&b amplifiers, including the D20, D25, D40, and D80. Introducing the d&b audiotechnik U3 Loudspeaker. The U3 is a high-performance, 2-way loudspeaker providing exceptional directivity control and electroacoustic efficiency.

d&b U3 Loudspeaker NLT4 F/M

The point‑source U3 suits both mobile and installation applications, and it represents the next generation of d&b technology and innovation. It features dual 5″ drivers in a bipole arrangement along with a 0.75″ compression driver mounted on a 100° x 65° horn. In addition, you can rotate the horn 90 degrees without using any extra tools (patent pending).

The U3 also leverages new industrial design and manufacturing techniques to achieve state‑of‑the‑art horn geometry and advanced bass‑reflex ports. As a result, it delivers full bandwidth and extended LF output (-5 dB @ 55 Hz with CPL). Furthermore, the U3 provides 65‑degree vertical directivity control starting at 500 Hz, paired with 100‑degree horizontal dispersion.

The cabinet uses highly durable, partially recycled ABS and achieves an IP54 rating for dust and weather resistance. Meanwhile, a rigid metal grille and acoustically transparent foam protect the front. You can stand‑mount or fly the U3. Additionally, a handle and M8 threaded inserts on the back make it easy to attach d&b rigging hardware designed for both mobile and installation use.

Amplifiers & comparisons for the U3

The U3 can be driven by any current d&b amplifier. This includes the D25, D40, D80 and D90, plus all the installation range versions too. You can drive up to three U3 loudspeakers per amplifier channel.

The U3 is the smallest loudspeaker model in the U-Series range. The cabinet dimensions are 411 x 187 x 245 mm with a weight of 7.1kg.
