Sneak Snake Fan IN
Send up to four universes of DMX down a CAT network cable using the SneakSnake system made by TMB. This listing is for the Sneak Snake 4-Uni Fan IN adaptor (also sometimes called a break in). This is typically applied at the input / desk end of the system, and the fan in is fitted with male 5pin XLR connectors. Reliable black finish Neutrik connectors are used within this product.
The four different universes within the adaptor are identified with colour coded cable boots on the adaptor. The four colours used are Red, Brown, Orange & Yellow. IPS also stock the matching Sneak Snake 4-Uni Fan OUT adaptor for the other end of this system. Designed so users can “Sneak” up to four DMX universes over economical CAT cable! The SneakSnake is very quick to deploy. It can be used with any sheilded CAT5 (or better) cable with RJ45 etherCON connectors. It is an economical system to integrate as there are no expensive specialised connectors. All the parts will be familiar and already found on almost all show setups.
Completely passive system, so no power needed at either end. Please note that this is a pin adaptor based system and NOT an IP / Network Protocol system. This means that whilst it uses standard network cable, it can’t be used with other network items such as systems or other control systems. It must be cabled point to point, from one SneakSnake compatible adaptor or panel to another. This does mean that there is no software configuration or assignment – just plug it in and it is ready to go. As network cables are bi-directional, it also means that there can’t be a wrong end at FOH if someone has not been paying attention. Worst case, you only have to swap the fan in/out adaptors!

Sneak Snake Panel
Send up to four universes of DMX down a CAT network cable using the SneakSnake system made by TMB. This listing is for the Sneak Snake Panel. This is a smart 1U rack mounted panel populated with both male and female 5pin XLR connectors. The male and female connectors are connected in parallel, so only one should be used at a time. This means the SneakSnake Panel is bi-directional and could be used at either an input or output end of a system. It is most found built into an Art-Net stage output rack to simplify truss cable runs.
IPS also stock the matching Sneak Snake 4-Uni Fan IN and Sneak Snake 4-Uni Fan OUT adaptors for the other end of this system.
