Clay Paky Mythos 2 Hire

The Mythos was arguably the first true hybrid beam/wash/profile fixture. Initially plagued with issues, the version 2 upgrade a few years into its life has made these solid workhouse performers. The Clay Paky Mythos 2 brings razor-sharp beams and rich spot projection in one formidable cost effective fixture.

Key Features

  • Revolutionary Osram Sirius HRI® 440W X 7000k short arc discharge lamp source
  • Large 160 mm front lens yields a dense, parallel beam that stays tight over distance
  • Dual zoom / mode operation: 4°–50° electronic zoom in spot mode. Plus a 2.5° pipe-style beam mode for pure aerial effects
  • Full CMY colour mixing with 3 fading wheels + 15 fixed colours. Plus 2 CTO (3,200 K & 2,500 K) and 1 CTB filter for perfect white / blue balance
  • Rotating & fixed gobos, animation wheel, dual prisms (8-facet, linear 4-facet) plus frost effects
  • DMX/RDM Control (2 modes, 30 or 34 channels)
  • Power input via TRUE1 (no link out) – DMX in/out via 5pin XLR
  • 32kg rigging weight
Love it or loathe it, the Mythos 2 is an established hybrid fixture, still seen on tour riders. It produces an outstanding large light beam, featuring an impressive zoom from 4deg to 50deg (1:12 ratio). The Light beam is sharp, with perfectly defined edges, from the first millimetres after the front lens right along its entire length.  A large 160 mm-diameter light beam leaves the Mythos front lens and remains parallel for its entire length even at great distances. Ready tio hire now from IPS, supplied from IPS flight cased in pairs.
If you are looking for an eye candy wash partner from the same manufacturer, check out the excellent Clay Paky HY B-Eye K25. Alternatively, if you are looking for something a bit smaller to create a dramatic beam effect, the laser source Clay Paky Mini Xtylos HPE is also worth a look. These fixtures are ready to hire from IPS, alongside a huge range of other lighting fixtures, control, cabling and rigging options, and much more.
