Designed for use with Chavet Ovation Profile fixtures, the Chauvet Ovation HD 5 degree Lens is ready to hire now from IPS.

Catchily named in our hire inventory as the Chauvet Ovation HD Lens Tube 5deg, this is a great product. The tight beam angle created by this lens is great for precision lighting work, and gobo projection over long distances. The HD optics help ensure a sharp focused output of light every time. Compatible with LED source ellipsoidal reflector spotlight fixtures. Chauvet refer to these as ERS-style, we usually call them either profiles, or by the name of the product that ‘inspired’ this generation, the Source 4.

IPS also have an extensive hire stock of fixed profile lenses, which includes 14, 19. 26, 36, 50 degree options. Plus a 25-50deg Zoom.

The Chauvet HD lenes differ in two key ways from their ETC source 4 counterparts. These are that they are typically fitted with plastic lenses which are optimised for LED fixtures (hence the HD). The other bonus is that all fittings are made from stainless steel. This makes these lenses very durable and resilant to indoor or outdoor use. This makes them the perfect partner for the IPS stock of all IP-rated variants of the Ovation product range.

This Chauvet Ovation HD 5 degree Lens is compatible with all the IPS Ovation hire options including E-910FC IP, E-260WW IP and Reve E-3 IP fixtures.

This listing is actually for a Martin VDO Sceptron Linear Aligner, although we call them Linear Couplers. The Martin VDO Sceptron Linear Coupler (Aligner) is dsigned for Sceptron fixtures. It is ideal for use with our Martin Sceptron XB 1000mm IP LED Batten and Sceptron XB 320mm units. This coupler is also compatible with the older generation of Martin Sceptron VDO fixtures as well as the VDO Fatron series.

The technicality is that the coupler version actually is fitted with regular screws which aren’t very event friendly. As such the version we supply is officially called an aligner by Martin – but it is the same piece of hardware just with black thumbscrews rather than the screws.

The Linear Coupler features include:

• Slides into back-profile of VDO Sceptron or VDO Fatron and is locked into positon using thumbscrews
• Guarantees perfect alignment between adjacent fixtures
• Black finish that matches the metalwork of the Sceptron fixture

There isn’t really a huge amount to say about the Martin VDO Sceptron Linear Coupler (Aligner). You can find the specifications for these couplers and all Sceptron Accessories on the Martin website here. If you have any questions, or need some other rigging hardware that you can’t find on our website, please get in touch with our hire team to discuss your specific requirements.

Martin VDO Sceptron Tube Smoked Diffuser 320mm fits both the 320mm VDO Sceptron XB and the older 320mm Sceptron VDO 10 series fixtures.

The diffuser fits securely into the integrated mounting channel within the Sceptron body. IPS has a full range of diffuser options in stock to create lots of different looks from the Sceptron units. These include Round, Square and Tube options. They are typically available both in the standard white/opal finish or a smoked finish. The standard white/opal finish gives maximum brightness and widest viewing angles. However they will look like white bars when turned off. The smoked finish is more of a stealth option and helps the fixture blend into darker backgrounds, sets or truss setups. The trade off is that the output is slightly reduced with the smoked finish.

Showtec Sunstrip Active

The Showtec Sunstrip Active DMX Blinder (3 PIN DMX) MK1 is ready to hire from IPS. One of our older hire stock items, this 10 cell GU10 lamp-based blinder is something of a classic fixture. Now often considered in the vintage or retro category, the Sunstrip remains a popular choice with lighting designers.  It can create looks from a soft warm glow to a harsh bright white. Plus, with individual cell control, it also offers lots of pixel mapping possibilities.

The Sunstrip Active is the successor of the already popular Sunstrip I and II. The Sunstrip Active has a built-in dimmerpack, making it quick and easy to deploy. Just add power, and external control if desired. In order to make the unit most versatile for many applications you can select different DMX modes: 1, 2, 5 and 10 channel. For stand-alone applications, the Sunstrip Active is equipped with 16 built in patterns as well as a manual dimmer.

Power connection is via Neutrik Powercon inlet, and each fixture also includes a link output. Each fixture hired from IPS is supplied with a 16A to powerCON cable.  We have a large range of powerCON link options in stock too. Data/Control connection is via 3pin XLR. Please consider this when working out your cable call and hire 3pin to 5pin and 5pin to 3pin DMX adaptors if you need them.

The Sunstrip Active is equipped with two Wall/Floor brackets to put your fixture in any desired position. IPS also provides two Doughty T5812201 Super Lightweight Half Couplers in Black with each hire. IPS hire Sunstrip units are supplied in 12-way flight cases. The euro trunk sized case includes space for the rigging hardware (and a limited anount of cabling too).

Sunstrip Alternatives

If you are looking for an LED based sunstrip alternative, we have several options. Want to extend the vintage or retro look? check out the Showtec Edison Bar which has the same form factor with LED Filament lamps. Robert Juliat Dalis 862 LED Footlight 1m ready to hire at IPS. The Dalis 862 is a high performance 150W Variable White Asymmetric LED Batten, ideal for theatre and stage lighting applications.

Perfect for Front of Stage footlighting, these compact profile LED battens help cover this otherwise tricky lighting position. Ideal for illuminating faces on stage apron or thrust areas where it is hard to get low enough angles from anywhere else in the rig.

Superb Robert Juliat build quality, plus handy Red & Blue postioning LEDs within the fixture. The positioning LEDs help with performers finding their stage location in blackouts. They can be used to provide a helpful centre stage or performer position reference point if needed. They then provide great footlight illumination when they are in position. The 1m long low profile design and black finish is unobtrusive on a stage edge – and is so much better than ancient howie battens or other conventional alternatives. Low power consumption mean multiple units can easily be linked from a single power supply source. You can find the full details and specification for these superb fixtures on the here on the Robert Juliat website.

Astera AX1 Pixel Tube Kit at IPS. The AX1 is a powerful pixel controllable LED RGBW baton that can be mounted at event and film sites to light up people and objects or create indirect lighting effects. A highly creative device that offers an infinite range of possibilities.

Seamless Runtime:

To ensure that your light’s batteries last throughout your entire production, you can select how many hours they have to last. This limits the light’s output to a level where you get the maximum brightness to achieve the selected runtime.

Anti-Flicker:

Using the AsteraApp, users can adjust the PWM frequency of the LEDs can to ensure that there is no interference with standard cameras. In addition, the light has a green/magenta balance to minimize post-production work.

Emergency Light:

With this innovative feature, the lights can double as a battery-powered emergency light. When activated, the fixture can detect power loss and instantly switches to bright white light to illuminate the venue.

Anti-Theft:

If enabled, the integrated theft alarm gives visual and audible alarm if lights are being moved. In addition, the AsteraApp also shows the alarm.

Talkback+:

Detect all available lights, set them up, check their status, configure DMX addresses and DMX profiles.

Effects:

Quickly build programs out of colors and effects, trigger them or make them match a beat.

The ART7 AsteraBox is a wireless interface between all Astera fixtures and other control infrastructure.

Thanks to the built-in battery, it can be carried around to ensure that it stays close to your handheld device. Regularly seen clipped to the belt of an LD alongside a show radio whilst moving around a show or venue! While the classic AsteraBox connects via Bluetooth, the newer version also supports Wifi when connecting box to phone or tablet.

According to Martin, this guarantees pixel-to-pixel and fixture-to-fixture consistency, even when products from different manufacturing batches are being used together.

Power & Control

The Sceptron XB must be used with a Martin P3 PowerPort 2000 or PowerPort 500 driver to provide power & data. These are ready to hire from IPS, with the P3 PowerPort 2000 being a 1U Rackmount four output option, and the P3 Powerport 500 IP Rental being an IP rated truss mountable one output option.

Control is via Art-Net, sACN & Martin P3 control. The Sceptron XB can be used both as a lighting fixture and as a creative video element, and the P3 Mix channel enables switching and fading between ‘lighting mode’ and ‘video mode’. Fixture mapping and addressing is completed through P3 System Controller or Companion desktop or phone app.

Martin VDO Sceptron Round Diffuser 320mm fits both the 320mm VDO Sceptron XB and the older 320mm Sceptron VDO 10 series fixtures.

Alternatives to the Martin VDO Sceptron Round Diffuser 320mm include the smoked round 320mm version. Other options include:

Martin VDO Square Smoked Diffuser 320mm and the Martin VDO Square Diffuser 320mm

Martin VDO Tube Smoked Diffuser 320mm and the Martin VDO Tube Diffuser 320mm

If you are looking for the longer version, IPS also has 1m VDO Sceptron XB versions of both the fixtures and diffusers ready to hire. This is alongside the PowerPort drive units and much more.  You can find the official specifications for this item here on the Martin website.

Chauvet Ovation HD Lens Tube 14deg

Designed for use with Chavet Ovation Profile fixtures, the Chauvet Ovation 25-50deg Zoom Lens is ready to hire now from IPS.

Catchily named in our hire inventory as the Chauvet Ovation HD Lens Tube 25-50deg Zoom, this is a great product. The zoom range allows for onsite flexibility, helping ensure a correctly sized and sharp focused output of light every time. Compatible with LED source ellipsoidal reflector spotlight fixtures. Chauvet refer to these as ERS-style, we usually call them either profiles, or by the name of the product that ‘inspired’ this generation, the Source 4.

IPS also have an extensive hire stock of fixed profile lenses, which includes 5, 14, 19. 26, 36, 50 degree options.

This 25-50deg Zoom Lens is compatible with all the IPS Ovation hire options including E-910FC IP, E-260WW IP and Reve E-3 IP fixtures.
