The EXE Rise D8+ 2000kg Double Reeve Motor / chain hoist is ready to hire now from IPS. Electric Chain Hoists (or ‘Motors’ as they are also commonly known) are an ideal choice for event rigging. Hirers can use these three-phase powered models on their own via a 1-way controller (or pickle) or in multi-hoist configurations. Featuring low voltage control (LV) these motors are widely compatible with a range of control systems. Double braked, and compliant with D8+ standards, these hoists meet all rider specification criteria for event and entertainment projects.
The EXE Rise range is made from extremely light cast aluminium. This monster two ton model has a relatively small body size for the capacity – officially named ‘Large Frame’ in EXE terminology. This means our versions are much smaller than the single drop chain versions from other suppliers. The IPS hire stock versions tip the scales at 215kg including the chain. Speaking of chains, the IPS hire stock 2000kg EXE Rise motors feature a lenghty 33m Height of Lift. This makes these work well in higher venues as a straight drop – and comfortably work in a motor down configuration for a ground support for towers up to 15m tall (just remember double reeve means double runners needed on the header).
Designed for smooth operation, the EXE Rise electric chain hoist operates at a fixed speed of 4 metres per minute. Comparatively quiet in operation, these motors are ideal for soundstages, nightclubs, exhibition halls, concert halls, amphitheatres, and all kinds of indoor or outdoor venues. Check out the full manufacturer specification here.
Packaged in a tour ready wheeled flight case, our EXE Rise D8+ 2000kg Motors are ready to go. Ask us about the hire of optional rain covers if you are working outside. Supplied ready to rig with the chain run out, each motor has up-to-date LOLER and electrical test certificates available for the hire duration.
We also have a wide range of other Chain Hoist options including 500kg and 1000kg models. In stock now alongside 1 to 32 way control systems, motor power and control cable looms. Plus a huge selection of other event rigging hardware. Check out the full range of motors and control options ready to hire from IPS here.

This listing is for two of our 24 channel low voltage control systems, and the large 48 channel remote control. This forms our SRS 48ch LV Motor Controller.
The system is based around the SRS Rigging AHD-LV motor controller. To reach to 48 ways, two 24 channel system racks would be linked with a single remote. The design of the system means that any motor can be run individually, or selectable groups can run simultaniously. This includes all 48 ways at once if required.
The system includes two racks and an addtioanl conroller. Each rack is complete with two SRS AHD12-LV 12ch motor controllers and power distribution built in. The system would also include two 24-channel remote control handsets with a 20m control cable in each rack if needed. All data control link cable is included to join racks (just not the power links – see note below).
We also have a 24 channel version of this control system ready to hire – check out the details here.
The SRS motor control system has loads of great features. Some of the highlights are detailed on the SRS website here. Some of our favourite features for a hassle free set up include APA (Automatic phase sequence checking and alignment) and AVM (Automatic voltage check and hoist protection). Plus the group control feature is handy for running multiple units from one remote. We are also looking forward to using the RRST – Remote reset function. No more running back to the rack if someone hits the emergency stop by mistake.
Power input is via three phase PowerLock connectors. Plus there is a handy link output for when multiple racks are in use. The custom power distribution unit also includes 4x motor power outlets on the front panel. These are ideal for testing or running out chains next to the controller if needed. Each rack includes a further 2x motor power outlets to the rear, plus 2x auxilary 16A 1p outlets for local power too.
As this system consists of two racks, you would either need two PowerLock power supplies, or a PowerLock link cable to join the two units.
Outputs on the racks are via six pairs of socapex connectors. Wired to the IPS standard of 4-ways per soca, these outlets can either be directly connected to motor power and control fan / break outs or extended via socapex multicore cabling. Just remember that you need two runs of socapex, one for power and one for control when working with 4-way systems. Have a look in our rigging section for all the adaptors and looms you may need (scroll to the bottom for the cables), and check out our socapex hire listings here.
IPS 24 channel low voltage control system. Based around the SRS Rigging AHD-LV motor controller, we have created a linkable 24 channel system. Built into a robust rolling rack flight case for easy onsite handling. The SRS 24ch LV Motor Controller contains power distribution and remote controllers in a single box solution. Designed for operating electric chain hoists using low voltage control.
Each rack is complete with two SRS AHD12-LV 12ch motor controllers and power distribution built in. A rack drawer houses the 24 channel remote control handset with a 20m control cable. Plus a data control link cable is included to join racks.
We also have a 48 channel version of this control system ready to hire – check out the details here.

SRS MCPH-DV-CEE 2 Way Motor Controller Direct Control Pickle
Looking for a 1-way control option for your low voltage (LV) electric chain hoist? Then the CM Pickle LV Motor Control is the product for you!
I’m not sure if anyone really knows where the name pickle comes from, but this is the industry standard way to locally control motors. Compact and easy to use, this is a must for any event rigger to make local adjustments.
Fitted with a CEEE-Form connector, the motor being operated will also need to be connected to a power supply for operation. Once connected, this remote provides push button options for up and down motor adjustment. Ideal for use with the IPS range of LV control motors, these include 500kg, 1000kg and 2000kg D8+ units from EXE Rise.
If you need a more complex control option, IPS also have an extensive stock of motor control options. These include 8 way, 16 way, 24 way, 32 way and 48 way systems for Low Voltage Chain Hoists. We also stock a wide range of motor cabling options – and also direct control systems too. This is alongside all the truss and rigging accessories you may need too. You can see all the details in the rigging section of our website here.
This listing is for a 48 Way remote control handset for use with IPS SRS motor control racks. Using this SRS 48 way LV Motor Control, up to 48 motors / electric chain hoists can be controlled together. Or many more if the advanced features of the control system are used.
This controller is connected using a dedicated 20m 5pin 5core control cable that is supplied with each unit. Also provided with the IPS standard hire package is a 2m link cable. All housed in a briefcase style flight case.
The SRS model number for the remote is ADR48-DIGI-AHD-T19. This controller provides 48 physical switches for setting direction, as well as an E-Stop and the all-important “Go” button. Also on this controller is an LCD display with an encoder and selection buttons which can be used to set an address if required, as the SRS AHD Digital system is able to be configured to control up to 384 motors/hoists from one remote. Full manufacturer details are available here on the SRS website, including a downloadable user manual.
The SRS LV Control System is suitable for all motors/ hoists that use a Low Voltage (LV) control system – such as the range of EXE Rise D8+ models in stock at IPS. They are also fully compatible with Low Voltage control models from manufacturers including Chainmaster/Movecat/Liftket/Tourrig, CM lodestar, GIS, LITEC, Prolyft, Verlinde/Stagemaker. Essentially any three-phase chain hoist on the market.
Please note this listing is just for the 48-way remote controller. To use this to control your motors, you will also need further SRS hardware. Simply add 2x SRS 24 Way Control Racks for the actual control hardware – or hire it all together as a 48 way LV Motor control system here. The data link cable is already included, but you may also need an additional PowerLock Link cable or supply depending on your power configuration.
