A 230mm X 230mm steel floor plate with a 29mm TV spigot receiver. The turtle plate has 4 x 6mm corner fixing holes.
An aluminium large Modular H frame with thru connectors often used to create a ladder frame for lanterns.
These H Frames can be connected together or connected to the small H Frames. Connections are made with our T45755 connector. Slots are provided for safety bonds.
A range of clamps/couplers are available fitted with a conical connector for suspension and Tank trap adaptors are also available enabling the H Frames to be floor-standing.
A really useful range of aluminium tops with an M10 or M12 female threaded hole suitable for 48mm or 51mm diameter tube. Supplied with bolt and washers.
The industry standard half coupler. A high tensile extruded aluminium clamp that is suitable for 48mm to 51mm (1.89inch – 2.01inch) diameter tubes. It has a WLL of 750Kg and is 50mm (1.97inch) wide. Slotted to hold captive an M12 nut or bolt head. Ideal for trussing as it will not damage the cords.

The industry standard. The Doughty T54250 Tank Trap provides the means to support a 48mm vertical tube or scaffold pole. Versatile, robust, and seen all over event and production sites. It is ideal for creating compact lighting stands, side lighting positions, drape supports and a whole host of other applications.
Constructed from a 600mm square mild steel plate with a 48mm receiver welded to it. The receiver is 300mm long with two wingnuts to secure the supported pole. Adding the 5mm plate thickness, the top of this receiver is 305mm from the ground (almost exactly 1 foot). There is a cut out in the base to allow compact stacking for transport and storage, and a handle cut out for easier carrying.
Supplied by IPS in a Black painted finish, the tank trap is also sometimes known as a boom base. We also have a full range of aluminium scaffold tube (scaff) and all kinds of clamps and joiners ready to hire here. Larger quantity tank trap hires from IPS are usually sent out strapped to a pallet.
The vertical support in these tank traps is in the centre of the base plate. If you are looking for an alternative configuration, we also stock the three position version of this product. This enables the support to either be in the middle, the middle of one edge, or the far corner of the plate. This is very handy when trying to get vertical uprights as close to a wall as possible. Alternatively if you are planning a drape or starcloth wall type installation, our Wentex Pipe & Drape system is also worth considering.

Gravlock 60kg Girder Clamp 48mm Scaff (Use In Pairs)
Building on the classic tank trap design, this three position version from Doughty provides many more options. A steel multipurpose floor plate to suit 48mm barrel and truss. Fitted with a removable receiver which may be bolted in three different locations. The key feature of this model is that the receiver may be mounted in the centre, at the edge or in the corner of the plate.
Constructed from a 600mm square mild steel plate with a 48mm receiver welded to it. The receiver is 302mm long with two wingnuts to secure the supported pole. Adding the 5mm plate thickness, the top of this receiver is 307mm from the ground (just a tiny bit taller than the standard base plate). There is a handle cut out for easier carrying each plate – each of which weights 18.5kg. IPS also stock the doughty a wheeled trolley system for storing and transporting the three posision tank trape. The receiver detatches from the plate when stored in the trolley for compact packing.

With the receiver removed the plate can be inverted and used as a truss base plate. Please note that the IPS hire version does not include truss connectors or fixings to mount truss to the plate.
