IPS supply 15m wide Outdoor LED Screen for Jason Bourne European Film Premiere
The Chauvet X6IP LED screen has been out again in Leicester Square forming a backdrop to some giant letters for the European Premiere of the latest film in the Bourne series. Measuring in at 15m wide by 3m high, the screen was made up from 180 panels with just under 1 million active pixels. The system was driven by a D3 media server running custom content supplied by client Limited Edition Event Design. IPS also supplied a custom Layher support structure that was constructed around various obstructions and supported the screen and letters – along with a range of lighting equipment.
The high resolution Chauvet X6IP 6.9mm pitch product was chosen due to its IP rating, making it ideal for outdoor use. The high brightness output also ensured that the content looked good on camera, and provided an animated background behind the large Bourne lettering.
The bespoke Layher structure was constructed within the Leicester Square gardens, and had to squeeze into position to ensure the correct angle was achieved, which included incorporating a tree within the footprint of the structure. Custom structural calculations were produced to ensure the correct ballast loading was provided, and the design was safe to use. IPS also provided the cladding panels to conceal the structure and make everything look smart enough to sit next to the red carpet.
