Kong Premiere Wide shotProjects this week have included the Kong: Skull Island Premiere; Exhibiting with the Arena MK at International Confex; and cooking on parcans!

IPS have been back in Leicester Square with Limited Edition Event Design, where the team battled the rain to install a 38m long Layher structure, fitted with three 6.5m x 3m Outdoor LED Screens and a range of generic & intelligent lighting. The structure incorporated an interview stage platform, and mounting positions for the LED Screens as well as a full branded backdrop. Kong Premiere 01An integrated lighting rail built into the top of the structure provided a neat rigging option, and everything was neatly finished with nearly 60m of black masking panels fitted to the edges of the structure. Along with the overall production design, Limited Edition also specified a range of lighting fixtures including Martin MAC Viper Performance and Profile fixtures, MAC Aura XB wash and the newly upgraded Clay Paky Mythos 2 fixtures – alongside nearly 100 generics. Dimming and Power distribution was courtesy of Avolites Art Racks, and control was via a Chamsys MQ100 desk running via the IPS Artnet distribution node system. The rain soaked premiere also saw the debut of the new IP Rated Prolights StudioCOB RGBW LED Parcans which have recently been added to IPS hire stock – and which performed admirably in the damp conditions.

Confex Arena MK LogoAfter drying out, IPS are exhibiting with the Arena MK at the International Confex exhibition at Olympia, London. PancakesIn other news, harnessing the power of generic lighting, parcans and fresnels were brought into play on Shrove Tuesday to see if it is possible to cook pancakes with the heat output from the fixtures – and we are happy to say that the results, albeit slow, were very tasty!
