Custom-Prolyte-Stage-CanopyDespite two very soggy wet weekends, IPS is still working away! A high profile film premiere for the new Rock of Ages took place in Leicester Square over the weekend, with IPS supplying equipment including a Custom Made Outdoor Stage canopy, a Two- level Layher Front of House and Camera structure, an Interview stage, Dance platforms, power distribution and a range of lighting equipment. Also, IPS supplied a full technical production solution for the Bletchley Carnival in South Milton Keynes. Equipment supplied included a Prolyte 12m x 10m MPT Outdoor Roof Stage, full PA and Lighting equipment, Crowd Barriers, Cable Ramp, Generators and all Power Distribution.

Truss-Based-Stage-PlatformThe Rock of Ages film premiere structures were designed by Limited Edition Event Design, in collaboration with IPS, and the components were from a mixture of stock and custom parts, produced in record time. Full structural calculations and Health and Safety documentation were produced by IPS to support the structure, all under the watchful eye of the council H&S officers. Despite driving rain, and high winds, the structure and all the technical equipment stood up admirably to the conditions- not to mention the massive efforts made by all the IPS crew.

Richard Wilson, one of the Project Managers at IPS, looked after the Bletchley carnival, with preparations for the project starting before Christmas. Saying “With all the equipment to make the job work available in house, we were able to provide a full technical package” Richard ensured that everything ran smoothly throughout the build process, and that everything had the required Jubilee theme. IPS rental equipment was used on the event, including Martin Professional MAC 401 LED and Martin MAC 250 Beam lighting fixtures, Showtec Pixel Track Pro LED Battens, a Chamsys control desk and range of generic lighting fixtures.

West-Bletchley-Carnival-Prolyte-MPT-StageThousands of metres of sound, lighting and power cabling were using during the event, with the main runs being protected by our Adam Hall Defender cable ramps. Ian Brown from IPS made sure that the lighting was dynamic and interesting throughout the event, and Dave Wilkie made sure that the Martin Audio LC Line Array PA system sounded at its best. All the action was based around the Prolyte MPT Outdoor Roof Stage, which is still available for some summer weekends this year. Also supplied in front of the stage was the IPS LiteBarrier Crowd Barrier system, which is available on straight and corner sections, with gate modules to make running a multicore to front of house a trouble free experience. Local supporters included event organisers West Bletchley Council, with Real Music MK, and local radio station MKFM – see more photos from the event here http://www.mkfm.com/photos/community-events/30740-west-bletchley-carnival.html
